Avatar 3-D

I took my hubby and youngest son to see Avatar in 3-D as part of their Christmas present. My 6 year old had been begging ever since the first promo for it- so he was pretty stoked! My hubby, on the other hand, is not a movie kinda guy. So we had to drag him along, LOL! About 30 minutes into the movie my husband leans over and says "This is the best Christmas present EVER, babe!". The movie is THAT good. The special effect are amazing. We could not get over the fact that it was not real. That this whole world had been made up in someone's mind and with computers. The floating mountains looked so majestic. They were truly awe-inspiring. The only part that my husband thought was a little off was the name of the mineral that they were looking for- Unobtanium. Yep folks, you heard the name right. We thought that was a little silly for an otherwise fantastic movie. It did chintz it up a little. My son stayed awake for the WHOLE movie- all three hours of it. He was leaning forward with his eyes as wide as they would go for 95% of Avatar. This is a movie we will be buying and we are not movie buyers. We give it 6 thumbs up!
